About My Magazine

Above I have information about my magazine and what will be inside the magazine. I have stated every detail that will be in the magazine such as adverts and who will be advertising them, who will be on the posters and the top articles in the magazine, I have also placed the target audience which is 16-28 year olds. I have chosen these ages because I have articles which date back to the 90's, Old School, and articles from the music we have now, New School.

Above is my second piece of research which focuses on the R&B and Hip Hop scene in the United States of America. Again, I have broken down the main features on the front cover and explained how they make the magazine attractive enough for people to pick up and check.

Above I have my first piece of research for the music magazine. I have researched an image of the front cover of XXL, which is an American based magazine. This magazine focuses around Hip Hop scene in the United States and I have broken down different parts of the magazine to explain the effect of each font size, choice of colour and the image placed on the front cover and what this indicates when it comes to attracting the target audience. The target audience for this magazine is any Hip Hop fan within the ages of 16-26.

Music Magazine Flat Plan

Above is my flat plan for my music magazine which I have named 'Sound Wave'. The flat plan consists of 40 pages which contain a variety of different articles from the Hip Hop and R&B world. From interviews with new and upcoming producer, Lex Luger to interviews with Hip Hop legends Rakim and KRS1. The magazine also contains posters which can be used to attract the younger generation at the same time as attracting the older generation with news about the 'Old school' hip hop scene. This flat plan has given me a clearer view and how to structure my magazine, it is a clear way to show how this magazine would turn out.

School Magazine Research

'High Profile' have made the word Profile in bold so it stands out against the black background, this also lets us know that this school has very high standards. They have made the text white so that it stands out against the black background. Where as 'The Phoenix' has rainbow like colours, this indicates that the school may be a multi cultural society. They have also placed famous faces on the front cover to tell us that their might be some articles in the magazine about them. Also to indciate that their school is going to produce some future celebrities.
